Only organisations that have an active account registered in the GDI system can bring data to GDI Estonia. Contact your organisation admin for further details.

1. To get started

Navigate to the GDI Estonia portal. The login page is the entry point to the system.

2. Log in

Click Login and authenticate via TARA, a national authentication service. After successful authentication, the user is redirected back to the GDI Estonia portal.

3. Navigate to Register dataset

Go to Management → Organisation → Register dataset.

4. Select the file

Click Register dataset. In the dialog, select the encrypted dataset package file (*.tar.c4gh) from the local computer.

5. Upload

Click Register dataset to confirm. The system uploads the file and validation starts automatically.

6. Check the result

The dataset appears in the datasets list. The dataset status reflects the outcome of the validation.

Common errors to avoid

  • Wrong file format — only *.tar.c4gh files are accepted. Uploading any other format will cause the upload to fail.
  • Unencrypted file — the dataset package must be encrypted before upload. An incorrectly encrypted file will fail validation.
  • Incomplete authentication — make sure to complete the full TARA authentication flow before attempting to access the portal. Dropping out mid-way will prevent login.

Help pages

While logged in, the portal provides help pages for each option. These are available throughout the system and can be used to guide the user when navigating the portal.
